FAA Part 107 Certification Classes

The Federal Aviation Administration, FAA, requires all drone pilots flying commercially to obtain a drone pilot’s license. The official name for the license is the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, which is obtained by passing a knowledge and safety exam administered by an FAA testing center. Remote pilot certificates are valid for two years before pilots are required to pass a recertification exam.

Who needs an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilots Certificate?
Any individual who is flying for commercial purposes is required to obtain a drone pilot license. This means anyone who is making money by using a drone or is being paid by someone else to fly a drone. The FAA has provided a quick and easy user identification tool to determine if you need part 107 certification.
